If you are a fan of the fashions previewed on such popular blogs as The Sartorialist or Garance Dore (I am!), you will love this week's Etsy Shop. Persephone Vintage is a vintage clothing store with a variety of extraordinary pieces. Stocked full of beautiful blouses, dresses, vintage jackets, and even shoes and purses, this little etsy shop has received a lot of notable press lately (Lucky Magazine, Glamour Magazine, etc). Her store is wonderfully edited and each piece is so unique. Check out some of my favorites...
menswear tuxedo blazer
pintuck ruffle blouse
(sorry, just bought this one for myself!)
floral purse
daisy ruffle dress
blue mod trench coat
black ascot mini dress
If you have a minute, check out the Persephone blog: www.enfanterrible.tumblr.com , it's pretty terrific. I immediately added it to my "favorites" list.

Check Yourself
I opened an email this morning from F.Schumacher to find a whole bunch of buffalo check. Is this trend coming back in style? Was it ever out of style?

Friday's Etsy Shop: Umbrella Heaven
Umbrella Heaven: you can find this UK based store on Etsy(!). I couldn't be more excited because, to tell you the truth, I am sick of using those nondescript black compact umbrellas. They're fine, but have no personality, and wouldn't you look forward to a rainy day if you could carry one of these fancy things? I might even skip when using it.
So, I think it's time for me to upgrade to something like this:
Navy Blue Pagoda Umbrella, $70.00
Or, try these classic shapes in a fun color (like pink!)...
Classic Pink Umbrella, $25.00
Classic White Umbrella, $30.00
Dashing Red Umbrella, $30.00
The "Sport" Umbrella in Blue, $35.00
Bonus: every umbrella is made with exceptional quality (no more protruding wire frames, or the dreaded and unexpected "inside out" umbrella situation). And, she ships internationally! I think that one of these umbrellas would make a great gift too!
Here are a couple more umbrella photos from Etsy that made me happy...
"waiting for the rains" by Rainwolf, available here.
"bear's umbrella" by Peevish, available here.

Spring Planters
Spring is in full swing here... and with it comes the pollen and allergy medicine. But, I am not complaining! I would rather deal with these obstacles than face another 20 degree day. With the recent (awesome) weather, I've decided to plant flowers on our deck... and hopefully I will be able to keep them alive until the Fall! If you are a beginner like me, you might have more fun shopping for planters than contemplating which hybrid petunia would grow best in south facing sun...
Here are a few terrific planters that I have found recently:
Ikea "Mynta" planters
"Dragon" planter at Wisteria
Fiberclay Chelsea Boxes from Jayson Home & Garden
modern grey planters at Smith & Hawken
round, cream "Mercer" planters at Smith & Hawken
black square "Mercer" planters at Smith & Hawken
Sleek Bamboo pot stand from Jayson Home & Garden

I love you, Nate.
I really have a crush on Nate Berkus. He is SO cute. So. Darn. Cute. This is not news, however, as most everyone who has ever seen him seems to be taken with him in one way or another... whether it is unmatchable eye for design, astounding business success, sweet smile, charming manner, sparkling eyes, um, yes... I like him.
Thanks to Heather at Habitually Chic, one of my all time favorite blogs, I have been alerted to new portfolio pictures and live Nate action via People Magazine! These images are fresh from the Nate Berkus portfolio...
But, if you need a little happiness today, go here. Let the adorable Nate give you a tour of his kick ass Chicago apartment that he shares with his handsome boyfriend. Sigh. (I wish we could have seen more of that front room! Oh, and check out that closet!)
and, some oldies but goodies from the Nate Berkus portfolio...
