Bamboo Dresser re-do

Here is a sneak peek of the sad (but awesome!) bamboo dresser that I picked up at a thirft shop many many months ago...  it's just begging for a glossy coat of paint.  Over Labor Day weekend, my husband and I took the dresser out of the guest room for a make over with white paint...

"After" picture to come!

Friday's Etsy Shop: Laura Lombardi Jewelry

I found this Chicago based etsy shop on the front page of Etsy this week, and I'm in love.  Laura Lombardi Jewelry.  Totally amazing, beautiful and unique.  Many many many things were added to my birthday/anniversary/Christmas wish list... hope my husband is reading this.

Cookie Magazine, Nashville Home Tour

In addition to Country Living, I also grabbed Cookie Magazine while running through the airport...  The home editor over there really picks some fantastic homes, and I thought I would share the recently featured Nashville home in this month's issue!

The couple purchased a log cabin fixer upper on a fabulous street and totally transformed it to meet the needs of their growing family. Their style mixes chic modern pieces with vintage finds, and all of it coexists in a brilliantly practical(!) home. I love the mix of high-end furniture with IKEA accents... the kitchen counters are corian rather than fussy marble, and I love how they kept that log cabin charm.  Enjoy!

Thank you Re-Nest!

Thank you Apartment Therapy Re-Nest who yesterday named High Street Market as one of their top 4 etsy vintage home stores!  I am honored to be in such great company!

Spooky Halloween Idea

Ok, so I know that the first day of Fall was yesterday (or is it today?), and it's a little crazy to mention Halloween decor already (like the folks singing Christmas carols on November 1st)...  but, I couldn't resist.  I picked up a copy of Country Living Magazine this weekend while running through the airport, and found that the issue was full of wonderful pictures and fantastic Halloween decorating ideas!  This one was my favorite: no messy cobwebs or glitter.  Just buy a few yards of cheesecloth from a local fabric store.  Rip it, cut it, distress it's edges and you have the perfect spooky Halloween throw.  It looks like a haunted house doesn't it?

Kelly Wearstler in Vogue

So, I heard that Ms. Wearstler would be featured in this issue...  but, um, I didn't like her house.  I didn't!  But, you might!  It's way-too-crazy-out-of-the-box-over-the-top for me.  This house gives me anxiety.

my favorite (ahem... exterior) image posted above.

to view all images of Wearstler's LA home, read the Apartment Therapy article HERE.

Abacus Barstool (on sale!)

What an awesome barstool.  On sale at Jayson Home & Garden, you guys...  someone needs to buy this.  I wish I could, but unfortunately do not have bar seating.  Seriously, how cool is this barstool?

Fancy Chandeliers

There is something special about a fancy chandelier with sparkly glass crystals...  in an unexpectedly modern room.  Like a kitchen, library, or office.  It doesn't feel stuffy or over done.  To me, it's a sophisticated surprise to modern design. So, I like it.

Crystal chandelier from Jayson Home & Garden

Or this vintage chandelier (for only $650!) on 1st Dibs

Here is a simple version from Lamps Plus

It takes some digging (and a little bit of vision), but you can find some beautiful vintage chandeliers at flea markets, or on craiglist...  even ebay!

Skirted Dining Table!

Look at this beautiful square tablecloth from Ballard...  It fits a 42" square table (like a card table) and looks like a million bucks.  Available in a ton of different fabrics...

Perfect for those small dining rooms that double as a work space, entry, etc...

Too Darn Cute

I'm back and still alive.  No, I did not strike it rich and, no, I could not keep up with some advanced endurance levels, but I did enjoy the sun and all the people watching Vegas has to offer (even spotted Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Damon and Marlon Wayans, and Tyrese at dinner on Saturday night).

Monday is starting out slow... but, I had to share this adorable picture from Absolutely Beautiful Things.  It's Anna's puppy, Ned, sneaking into her picture for "Friday Flowers."  What a cutie.

Sin City!

See ya later, people...  I getting on a plane in a few hours and jetting to Las Vegas for the weekend!  I can hear the "bing bing bing" of the slot machines now...  hmmm.

If you need to find me, I will be the girl winning big at the craps table (a girl can hope, right?).

I can't count on winning the jackpot (however, I'm not ruling it out)... but I DO know that the weekend will be filled with crazy bachelorette events since we are celebrating the wonderful wedding of my dear friend (and 1st friend!), Meghan!  She is what I like to call "an advanced partier."  I hope I can keep up!  See you on Monday!

Friday's Etsy Shop: Bethany Lorelle

Today, I have to talk about this amazing etsy shop: Bethany Lorelle.  This shop is stocked FULL of handmade feather headbands and clips, and they even take custom orders (perfect for weddings!)...  check out some of my favorites!

Lonny on October 1st

Yes, I am very much looking forward to October 1st.   There hasn't been too many "Oh my gosh!  I love it!" moments (for me) since the tragic death of Domino...  I miss it so.

Michelle Adams (of Rubie Green) will release the first issue of Lonny Magazine on October 1st.  The first issue of the online magazine promises seven home tours(!) and LOADS of decorating ideas.  Yay!

Great Idea!

I plan on doing this fun DIY project with a newly painted dresser that finally got some attention over Labor Day!  This would also work with a great wallpaper.  Just saying.

It's Fun To Be A Bridesmaid...

It's no secret that I am a big fan of Carissa at JL Designs.  She is seriously a genius (read my previous postings here and here).  Check out her fresh take on bridesmaid dresses and bouquets...  And, the most amazing part is that these dresses are all under $100.00.

Ink blue skirt with a ruffled gold top... and a bouquet of white veronica.

Another fabulous dress, this time in navy with white ruffles...
