Black & White

A couple of weeks ago, something happened to me that has never happened before.  I entered a blog giveaway and I won.  I WON!!  Can you believe it?  And today, my prize arrived: a SIGNED copy of Celerie Kemble's new book, Black & White (and a bit in between).

Signed!

Here's proof:

Oh, Celerie.  I'm sure I will find plenty of pages to dog ear.
(!!!!!)

Here are a few peeks at her new book:

It's very interesting to hear Celerie's perspective on black & white.  For a designer who (at times) is defined by her bold use of color, the black and white palette can feel refined.  Celerie says that it shows restraint.  Editing a room down to such a simplified scheme can sometimes be the most fascinating.  The book is a compilation of rooms designed by Celerie herself, as well as other interior design superstars (think Bunny Williams, Victoria Hagan, Carrier & Co, and Miles Redd to name a few).

Thank you to Brittany (of The House That Lars Built) for hosting this fabulous giveaway.  I'm so glad I won this excellent prize.  :)

I think that I'll go out and buy a lottery ticket now.

Lonny Magazine, Oct/Nov 2010

The new issue of Lonny Magazine came out yesterday, and as usual, it's fabulous.  Not only is it filled with inspiring interiors, but the Gift Guide pages are equally creative.  Like this one from Katie Armour (aka The Neo-Traditionalist)...

Or, this one from Ellie Somerville, Editorial Assistant.   I'm wanting that cute keychain (from an Etsy seller!)...

And, here are my favorite images from this current issue...

First and foremost, Eddie Ross designed a Thanksgiving tablescape filled with creative details that we can all duplicate.  I also think that he might just have the perfect home for this type of occasion (it was built in the 1700s...  and those beams!).  I LOVE it.

Gold painted pumpkins (as placecard holders!), marblized lamp shades, vintage linens (dyed from white to blue!)...

I love LOVE the Federalist mirror and black table used as a buffet...

Lonny also featured the beautiful home of Lulu De Kwiatkowski(You know that I love a good banquette when I see one)

We caught a glimpse of Ruthie Sommers' new project (and found out that she escaped to Paris for a whole year?)

The eclectic interiors of John Robshaw... here are my favorite shots.

We got to peek into the home of Palmer Weiss...

And finally, Celerie Kemble's home, high above Central Park...

Read the entire (257 page!) October/November issue of Lonny Magazine HERE.

Happy Monday!

Hot House Flowers Footstool

My love for this Celerie Kemble print continues...  (if you follow me on twitter, you know I'm obsessed).  So really, how awesome is this harp-shaped footstool?  It looks good with Hot House Flowers, I think.

I love it.

Just listed it in the shop!  Click HERE!

Hot House Flowers

I love the saturated colors in the Celerie Kemble 2008 fall collection for F. Schumacher. It has a Palm Beach-meets-Scandinavian feel that I adore. My favorite? Hot House Flowers in "Spark". This floral pretty much sums up my current color obsession: turquoise and blood orange. Then, add navy with hits of red and citrine. I love it. LOVE.

As a designer, I am my own worst client. I have issues committing to fabrics with color, let alone prints in my own home. I change my mind constantly. However, I fell in love with Hot House Flowers at first sight and saved myself from a house full of beige. I immediately ordered enough fabric for my living room pillows and now, I don't want to change it (well, not yet). Here are some pretty images with a similar color scheme...

Not only do I love Celerie Kemble's Hot House Flowers, but my dining chairs are newly reupholstered in this lovely number: Betwixt

Oh, and my kitchen window treatments are in Bleeker "Bear"

Yeah, I really like this collection.
