Angie Hranowsky

Sorry, I've missed the blog for the past couple of days!  The the items on the newsletter went fast, and since I promised that everything would ship out the very next day...  well, I was knee deep in boxes.

You guys, I've recently discovered the portfolio of South Carolina interior designer, Angie Hronowsky, and I'm loving it...  So many of these rooms reflect my personal taste.  This is how I want to live.   Hronowsky's work illustrates such a superb mix of eclectic design, living with unexpected touches of modern and traditional elements.  I'm totally in love.

So, enjoy some good eye candy...  these rooms speak for themselves.

Grant K. Gibson

Grant K. Gibson started his own design business in New York in 2002.  Now located in San Francisco, his popularity only continues to rise and we seem to be reading his name everywhere!  The Grant K. Gibson website features links to an amazing design portfolio, a fantastic blog and even a shop!  I love the preppy style of Gibson's designs...  his style seems formal yet comfortable, utilizing vintage finds and comfortable furniture.  And, each space features something a little unexpected.

Last week, Gibson's one-bedroom rental apartment was featured the New York Times.  Yes, rental.  It's phenomenal, see for yourself...

When Gibson found the place in 2007, it looked nothing like this (how could it?).  But, the neighborhood reminded him of his previous Upper West Side neighborhood in New York City, and he instantly felt smitten by the light shining through the windows.  He made a deal with the landlord, and in exchange for 2 months of free living, Grant would renovate the place.  Gibson sanded and stained the wood floors, brought in window treatments and built a banquette in the large bay window.

His bed is from PB Teen!  Gibson added an upholstered piece to the headboard (done in a camel mohair) to make the bed a bit more comfortable...

The Grant K. Gibson SHOP has some beautiful pieces...  Here are my favs:

Sara Story

The bedroom of designer, Sara Story, was recently featured in the All The Best Bedroom Contest, and the color scheme inspired me to cozy up for Fall...  oh, and I love that pink chair!

But, let's go a little further here shall we?  The Sara Story design portfolio is pretty amazing.  This woman is a color expert.

Red wainscotting?  Who woulda thought...

Love the black trim with the roman shade... and piles of Hermes boxes!

Sara's professional website is HERE, and feel free to visit the All The Best Bedroom Contest link HERE.  There are many other inspiring bedrooms to see!

Black & Spiro

So, Anna Spiro is leaving my dream: she is a shop owner, interior designer, and mom. Oh, and she writes that semi-popular blog, Absolutely Beautiful Things. Have you heard of it? She inspires me and thousands of others with her crisp clean use of white and bright saturated color, all combined to create a completely unique, fresh space that is tailored and friendly.

Well, she just announced that the Black & Spiro website is up and running. The porfolio is chalk full of great Anna Spiro images... Here a just a few of my favs.

If I can ever get to Brisbane, visiting Black & Spiro will be at the top of my list.

Meyer Davis Studio, Part I

The website and portfolio of New York based design firm, Meyer Davis Studio is beyond impressive. The website itself has an agenda of its own, constantly rotating photos and changing formats-- it's impossible to be bored with it. And, the images speak for themselves.

The work of principal designers, Will Meyers and Gray Davis, is steeped in modern design but yet, to me, still feels comfortable and livable. One project in particular (recently featured on Desire to Inspire) really caught my eye. Within their portfolio, it is simply called the "Lake House" and while many of the spaces have a clean and modern feel, the bones of the home feel old and unpretentious. And, of course, I LOVE the vintage accessories...

Love the Frech Press and black and white boat photograph.

A collection of vintage sports equipment is displayed in a beautiful mid-century bookcase, and I love the framed print leaning against the wall.

I love the vintage fan (and the trunk)! But the windows are the best thing in this room.

I am loving this vibrant color green.

More beautiful windows, and is that the same fan?

What a stunning bathroom... love the floor to ceiling drape, the painted black wall and is that white penny tile on the floor? Love it.

Perfect for roasting marshmallows...

And, as it turns out? This firm designed one of my favorite "kids room" tear sheets. Remember this from our beloved Domino (RIP)?
