Designer Blankets

In the world of pricey, label-flashing designer blankets, Hermes is king.  The "Avalon" blanket seems to be the most popular.  It is a wool cashmere blend, and the vast range of colorways (and pronounced "H") make it pretty hard to resist.  And, let's not forget the more understated Hermes "Altai" blankets which are also beautiful.  But, let's be honest, if you're going to buy a Hermes blanket, don't you want everyone to know it's from Hermes?  These blankets cost $1,300.00.  If you can't impress people, what's the point right?  Ok, glad we're on the same page.

In Lee's previously mentioned high rise condo...

But what about Gucci? Burberry?  And, Louis Vuitton?  These blankets are more elusive...

Gucci?

This is the only image I have of a Louis Vuitton blanket...  Can you see it?  It's just a sliver.  This is a room designed by Burnham Design (please forgive the poor scan).

If you want to save a few bucks on one of these, I recommend shopping on ebay.  Bids on Hermes "Avalon" blankets are running between $535.00 and $999.00.   I found ONE Louis Vuitton blanket, with a bid at $922.00.   And, sadly, I cannot locate ANY Gucci blankets...  but, one may come up sooner or later.

I know these blankets are pricey but, a girl's gotta stay warm right?

So chic, but will have to wait for the NYC street vendors to catch up! Now that would be fabulous!!

the one in the little boy's room kills me. SURELY it was just put there for the purpose of styling the photo, right?!

Jennifer! EVERY time I see that tear sheet I think that too! (rolling my eyes)

Maybe Kelly Wearstler's kids are just very clean.

OMG, j'adore it! May have to wait until I'm rich and famous before I drop a G on a throw blanket, though! Ah, one day... Thanks for the post, Kel! Love you!

Good post...I have looked at some of those photos many times but overlooked the Hermes blanket. I am sure the people that spend the $$$ on them hate that I didn't notice!

Not sure if I should cheer you or curse you for unleashing my previously undiscovered love for stratospherically high-end logo blankets . . . sigh . . . And to think the most I used to aspire to was a pretty Pendleton or authentic Welsh blankie. . .

I think this trend has got to be almost over. We've been seeing the Hermes blankets for well over a year. *yawn*

Gucci has released a beautiful throw blanket (I think close to the one you have pictured) originally priced st $950.00 at Gucci now through DSW.com for $99.95!

However, sold out there but I found it on a quick search of Amazon.com for $129.00.

It's absolutely gorgeous and comes in a fantastic Gucci box...
