Friday Flowers

I brought one of my local design clients fresh flowers this week.  They looked so pretty, I snapped a few pictures.  Any florists/flower enthusiasts out there know what the green koosh ball look-a-like is?  I bought a few stems at Whole Foods and loved their quirky look (and I love how they make a traditional arrangement of hydrangea look a little more unexpected).

Here's a sneak peek at my client's living room.  Remember those 1930 French chairs?  They ended up here.

Happy Weekend!

A Blue Ceiling

I love this formal entryway (designed by Turner Davis Interiors).  My favorite part is the unexpected blue ceiling-- it provides an interesting injection of color into an otherwise neutral space.   The trim is also stunning.

Want to try this at home?  Here are some nice cool blues that I've had great experience with...

Benjamin Moore "Iceberg"

Sherwin Williams "Topsail" SW6217

Farrow & Ball "Borrowed Light"
(which is much lighter and calmer than this sample suggests)

Martha Stewart "Salt Glaze"
(my sister used this color on the ceiling of her nursery... it's very subtle and perfectly bright)

Bohemian Paradise

I am a big fan of Peter Dunham Design and Peter Dunham Textiles.  He's truly a master of bohemian design and does it soooo well.  Layers and layers and layers...

Peter Dunham Textiles are available through Hollywood At Home:

LOVE this collection.  There's something for everyone here.  A little Mediterranean, a little Indian, and little Moroccan.  Fancy, casual.  All rolled into one.

One Week!

Mad Men is back in one week from today!  Dave and I are obviously HUGE fans of this vintage-inspired drama, and we're proud to have provided the prop department with a few products over the years.  The above clip is all about Betty, one of my very favorite (and I think, misunderstood) characters.

Season 5 premieres on Sunday, March 25th with a 2-hour episode.  High Street Market will be celebrating in it's own way this week-- so, stay tuned!

Thank You, Lonny Magazine!

What an exciting month this has been.  On Saturday, we eagerly opened the newest issue of Lonny Magazine and were thrilled to spot our Brass Turtle Shell Tray featured among Lonny's "Market" pages.  Thank you, Lonny Magazine!

And then, while flipping through the home features...  we spotted our Large Brass Anchor Paper Clip!  Featured in the Brooklyn home of Victoria de la Camara...

Yay!  To read the newest issue of Lonny, click HERE.

These are just a few of the pages that I've virtually dog-eared:

Current Inspiration

I'm currently obsessed with the idea of using a small-print wallpaper somewhere...  In a bedroom, a bathroom, or a tiny hallway-- I can't stop thinking about it.

Also on my mind: I want to paint my (100% brick) house...

I'm also inspired by these green kitchen cabinets...

(and that awesome floor tile)

Love the idea of using two mirrors, side by side, instead of one large one.  We're doing this trick at a clients home and I'm really excited about it.  This image is from Thomas O'Brien.

(again, another great inspiration for small-print wallpaper-- love it.)

Spring is here and that means getting out in the yard and working on the landscape.  Love the White Flower Farm catalog and want to buy (and plant) everything on it's pages...

I planted Allium and Jacqueline Tulips last fall, and they're already starting to pop up.
