Haberdashery

Haberdashery: noun. goods or a business kept by a haberdasher.

Haberdasher: noun. 1. a dealer in mens furnishings 2. a dealer in small articles for sewing, such as buttons, zips, and ribbons.

I love this word: haberdashery.  Lonny used it on one of the the market pages of their new issue (out this weekend), and I was instantly smitten.  I already love all things menswear... houndstooth, herringbone, stripes, leather, brass, etc...  and now I have a word that encompasses it all.

Haberdashery.

I'm so inspired by all these picks!  Plaid, houndstooth, leather, crystal, brass... and blue suede slippers from Prada!

Also, did you see that those wool throws are only $88.00 each?

  1. Love. I just bought 2 small scale vintage chairs. Painted the frames a nice emerald / kelly green....covered the cushions in a black and cream houndstooth. I LOVE them!

  5. Actually there are several meanings for the word haberdashery, In UK they define it as a store for sewing supplies or men clothing.
