Chalkboards In The Kitchen

I love the idea of a GIANT chalkboard in the kitchen.  Hang it in a classically simple frame, or go for something more modern (and dramatic!) by painting the entire wall with chalkboard paint!  Either way, they serve a functional purpose while looking oh-so-chic.  Kitchen chalkboards are the perfect place to jot down grandmas's favorite recipe, the menu for your next dinner party, or today's grocery list...  and if you have kids running around, the creative possibilites are endless.

Here are some of my favorite examples...

If you want to add a chalkboard wall to your kitchen, then try this fabulous product from Benjamin Moore.  It's less than $13.00 and it can change the look of the entire space.

And, if you want a MAGNETIC chalkboard wall (yes!), try priming the space with this magnetic primer first, and then covering with the Benjamin Moore chalkboard paint!  Brilliant!

Happy Monday!

  1. What perfect timing!!! Just the other day I decided to put a chalkboard in our kitchen. I found a good size antique frame in my 'frame stash' but then sort of scratched my head as to how to find, or make, the chalkboard. ; + So I'll use the products you mentioned - thanks for info!!!

  2. Love this post and thanks for the products listed....sometimes the paint aisles can be intimidating :)

P.S. I loved seeing that your parents were from Indy...that is where we live too. Do you have any design/thrifting spots you love to visit in town?
