Customer Entry

In lieu of a regular blog post, I wanted to share the lovely entry table of High Street Market customer, Crissi White.

Doesn't the vintage green lamp look right at home here?!!  What a beautiful entry table!  Love the black lampshade, love the mirror, love the porcelain dogs...  and love the Moravian Star pendant (spotted in the mirror's reflection)!!  Nice work, Crissi!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Cindy Crawford + Michael Smith = Malibu Dreamhouse

I realize that this feature from Elle Decor is practically ancient in blogging terms (isn't it from a 2006 issue?), but Cindy Crawford's Malibu home still ranks as one of my absolute favorites in terms of interior design.  Designed by world famous (and Presidential) interior designer, Michael Smith, this phenomenal beach house is the pinnacle of traditional meets eclectic design.

I posted the poolside image (above) last week, and all of a sudden a flood of inspiration came back to me.  I just had to revisit this incredible project so we could all swoon together...

It's just so good.

Happy Tuesday, dolls!

Sexy In The South

The March 2011 issue of House Beautiful arrived in my mailbox this morning, and much to my delight, I opened up the magazine to this page...

This fabulous Southern home is a product of the design team at Tracery Interiors, a Southern-based design firm specializing in residential and hospitality design.  If you haven't checked out the Tracery portfolio yet, I strongly encourage you to do so-- it's full of great inspiration!

I love how each space is steeped in traditional design, yet it still feels so fresh and comfortable.  It's still a modern house.  And, I love all that bright white!

(carrera marble tiles, all the way to the ceiling!)

(this screen is drop dead gorgeous!)

Check out the Tracery website HERE, and for daily inspiration, read the Tracery BLOG!

Happy Thursday, darlings!

The New Rue!

The third issue of Rue Magazine was released today!  It's a welcome bit of inspiration, since we are completely snowed in here in Philadelphia.  I wanted to get downtown today to pick up some fabrics and for the second day in a row, I've had to cancel my plans.  The Design Center is closed.  But, I'll try again tomorrow!

So, let's take a snow day and enjoy these inspiring spaces, shall we?

Read the new issue HERE!

And, have a Happy Thursday!

A Striped Entry

I love this entry, from Amanda Nisbet
This look could be recreated with some paint, a few rolls of painters tape, and a lot of patience, don't you think?

Or, you could just save yourself the time and spring for the wallpaper instead.
I love this Nina Cambell version in grey and gold!

*Just a reminder: today is the last day to enter the giveaway (you have until midnight to leave a comment!), and it's the last day to get free shipping + 20% off your order at Emma Stine

Happy Tuesday!

Eddie Ross Bench: Before & After

Last week, Eddie posted this FABulous before & after project that he worked on while writing his "Weekend Shopper" column for House Beautiful.  It's so great, that I thought I would post it here too...

Eddie spotted this old bench at a flea market outside of Orlando, Florida.  It was pretty beat up, with warped seats and cracked veneer, but the frame itself was solid.  While all four seats are connected by the overall frame, each one functions independently.  A very unique find, indeed.

Eddie took it back to his studio, cleaned it up, painted it a bright white and upholstered the seats with a refreshing stripe.

And this is the end result!

How adorable is this piece for a mudroom or hallway?! It definitely inspired me to give that flea market ugly duckling a second look... and, maybe it will inspire you too. After all, it could turn it into something like this!

(By the way, that mirror is gorgeous too)

UPDATE:  If any readers are interested in a bench like this, and you live in the DC area...  there is a near identical version on Craigslist!  Click HERE!

Shades of Gray

I saved these images from an amazing home ages ago, when I spotted it in Metropolitan Home Magazine.  It's modern and sophisticated, yet very clean and comfortable.  I can't get over this beautiful entry...

Chic NYC Pad, Eric Cohler

I've been pulling good "entry" images lately, and when I spotted this New York City entryway, designed by Eric Cohler, I had to stop and swoon.  I LOVE how simple this is, yet so dramatic.  And, that floor!

The kitchen is equally beautiful... I'm so jealous of all that space.  And, the marble counters are stunning.

And, if you read my blog regularly, you'll know that I love a good banquette when I see one...

Home Couture's Contessa never looked better as a headboard.  LOVE!  Does anyone know where I can get this pillow?
